CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Make sure the appliance is unplugged and allow it to cool before cleaning. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse power cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid. After each use, always ensure that the plug is removed from the wall outlet before handling the appliance.
1. Clean all removable parts after each use in warm, soapy water.
2. To remove stains from the exterior of the product, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
3. Water droplets may collect on top of the removable portafilter and drip onto the base during a brew cycle. To limit this accumulation, wipe this area with a clean, dry cloth after each cycle of use.
4. Use a damp cloth and carefully clean the cup base and travel mug. Never use an abrasive cleaner.
5. Assemble all parts and store for next use.
CLEANING WITH VINEGAR Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog the unit. It is recommended to clean it once a month. Excessive steam or a prolonged brew cycle is a sign that cleaning is necessary.
1. Fill the water tank approximately one third with white vinegar, then fill to the "MAX" indicator with cold water.
2. Place the cup on its base.
3. Press the power switch and allow the cleaning solution to infuse until the unit automatically turns off. Dispose of the infused cleaning solution.
4. Start the procedure again with a new solution
do not reuse the first solution.
5. Fill the reservoir with cold water using the cup and steep the pure water to remove any remaining cleaning solution. You may need to start the pure water brew cycle again to remove the remaining vinegar taste and odor.
6. Wash and dry the permanent filter, filter holder, lid and cup according to the instructions in the “CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE” section.
